There are so many! In scientific studies on topical application, bee venom has been shown to reduce wrinkles, stimulate collagen production, increase cellular regeneration, and protect against sun damage, as well as treat acne, dermatitis, and other inflammatory skin conditions.
You can check out the research in our "Bee Venom Science" section below.
We L-O-V-E the bees! We would never endorse or participate in the production of a product that could cause harm to the species. Our venom is sourced from a honey bee farm in Sweden where the collection process is ecological, sanitary, and completely bee-friendly. Through the use of glass sting plates, the venom sacs remain fully intact after stinging and the bees are completely unharmed, free to continue going about their daily honey-making business.
Nope! While our venom concentration is several times higher than the minimum effective dose determined by cosmetic research, it's still relatively small amount when compared to an actual bee sting. It's also not straight isolated venom like a live sting- the addition of our plant extracts and soothing hydrators make for a silky and luxurious experience without causing dermal irritation.
Topical use of bee venom has been around for hundreds of years and its safety is well studied. Applying venom solutions to the skin is not the same as being stung, as the venom generally doesn't penetrate deeply enough to create a systemic immune response. In both human and animal trials, there has been no evidence of dermal irritation or adverse reaction from the topical application of bee venom. We've linked several of these studies below in our "Bee Venom Science" section.
While a reaction from topical use is highly unlikely, it's always best to be safe. If you have a suspected or known bee allergy, make sure to patch test a small amount of the cream and contact your doctor or dermatologist before applying.
This will vary depending on how frequently you use the product and how much you apply per use. We've developed our cream to glide over skin and spread easily, so a little goes a long way!
